We are so unbelievably psyched for all of you. It must feel incredible to see all of your hard work coming to fruition. The website is incredible and the menu made my mouth water for a freakish amount of time (yes, that might have a bit to do with my insanity). We cannot wait to share so many experiences with all of you at the Rockhouse and the surrounding area and we would love to make a pilgrimage down there to don one of the Tyvek suits and get in the thick of the project. That Jalapeno Meatloaf is going down………..

Yay! Love having the dream, the drive and the know-how! Cannot wait to follow your progress. Congrats! – Rachael

Conrad Brouwer - June 19, 2010 - 8:02 pm

Hey Aaron I saw the demo looks like a lot of work, but it looked a lot better after the cleanup. Looks great.

Love Pops.

Malia - June 22, 2010 - 11:12 am

Yeah! This is SO cool… I love what you guys are doing:)

Beth & Wayne Brouwer - June 22, 2010 - 11:13 am

Ok, it goes without saying that if it’s done by a “Brouwer” and in the company of Brouwer’s, it gonna be GREAT! The website looks great, (love the logo!), the menu (agree with Nathan) looks amazing! While we are in Elizabethtown, IL, we will find time when all the Brouwer brothers can be together (and Krista, Tina and Beth) will revel in all things good! “Eat, Drink and be Merry”, while cliche’, can be our motto to assure Rockhouse is a Rockin’!
Congratulations Tina, Aaron, Ayla and company! Let the celebration (and eating!) begin!
With love from New Lenox,
Beth, Wayne, Alex and Miken (and yes, Sofie the bulldog)

Can’t wait and congrats!

Btw, it should say “introducing a new ADDITION to the Red River Gorge community….”; not EDITION. ;)

I hear nothing but good things about your progress, I’m really excited for you folks and I hope that I can make it out there from colorado soon to see it.

What a name! What a menu! What a wonderful sight to see on this end of HWY 11. Looking forward to sharing a meal at your establishment. It is nothing less than a miracle. Very classy.
Are we going to eat with you by October 1, 2011?

Amanda Chandler - October 6, 2011 - 11:16 am

This restaurant is about ten minutes away from my house- we stopped there to eat last Sunday and you were completely sold out of food from the night before!! That is amazing! The place looks incredible too- way to go! Will be back soon! :)

Aaron - October 14, 2011 - 1:47 pm

Thanks so much Amanda, We’d love to see ya! And we are getting the hang of when it is busy and trying to prep for it so we won’t run out next time :) But we do try hard to have just enough so we don’t fall into that all to common trap of being wasteful. See ya soon.

Teresa - December 4, 2011 - 2:15 pm

Your place is great! We appreciate the attention to detail and the care with which you have executed all of this. Congratulations.

Aaron, Our son Cody brought us in to eat on our visit from Florida. He had been bragging on finding a great place to have a really good meal anytime of the day. I have never walked into someplace to eat as a total stranger and been treated like family right off the bat. The food, libations, and atmosphere exceeded all the other meals we had while visiting. We are looking forward to eating there when we come back for a visit in Oct. This time I will make sure to get a t-shirt so that I can advertise for you in Florida.

We had breakfast at your place this morning. Wow! We WISH we would have found you on our FIRST day at the Gorge! The girl who took our order was AWESOME! We also had the pleasure of “overhearing” the owner talking with some of the diners. This is food we LOVE, and it’s SO difficult when you’re away from home to find “quality”, good for you stuff! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Our best wishes for MANY successful years for you to come!

Aaron - April 29, 2013 - 7:18 am

Hi there. Thanks for your inquiry and I’m sorry our menu doesn’t appeal to you. My cooking background isn’t that of Appalachia and I try to cook food that is more on the healthy side, using local suppliers for our proteins and veggies. We do have homemade carrot cake and other desserts from a French pastry chef friend of our in Lexington.

Paul & Heather - July 22, 2013 - 9:01 am

We rented a cottage for the weekend at the Natural Bridge Park, and assumed that we could get by eating at the lodge. Unfortunately the food was horrible, and we went looking for something better after our first meal. We ended up eating at your place a total of 4 times. You more than saved our trip, you made it great! The only thing better than the food was how friendly your staff was to us – obvious tourists out of their comfort zone. We felt at home immediately, and the food was fantastic. I will wear my Rockhouse tee-shirt with pride!

Sam Hartman - August 5, 2013 - 11:41 pm

We were the late comers and leavers tonight and I just wanted to say that you and your place was awesome. Thanks for the great eats, atmosphere and people.
Keep up the good work and you guys rock!
